BusinessWeek released the annual World's 50 Most Innovative Companies report, having Apple as a leader and Google on the second place. This is the second year in a row when Google is ranked as the second company after Apple, the company that managed to win the first place for the third time. However, this is quite an important award received by the Mountain View-company as it was recently named as the most powerful company in the world. Google won the first position in the detriment of numerous offline famous companies such as Coca-Cola, Marlboro or several car producers.

"It should come as little surprise, then, that Apple tops the BusinessWeek-Boston Consulting Group's list of the World's Most Innovative Companies for the third year in a row. That sort of staying power speaks volumes about the sort of innovation that matters today. The iPod is a hit because it works so seamlessly with the iTunes software. The company's much-anticipated iPhone, which launches in June, will likely keep Apple high on our list next year too," BusinessWeek tried to comment the chart.

Some time ago, Google was named as the best company in the world to work for as its employees are well-trained and are receiving important bonuses and promotions. As you might know, 20 percent of a Google employee's work time can be used for individual projects, allowing them to materialize their ideas. It's obvious that Google is no longer a simple company as it manages to win important awards and attract a considerable number of customers to its solutions. At this time, there are only few companies able to compete with the Mountain View giant, and only for a certain product or a certain category. Take for example Yahoo that is trying to improve its search engine and make it more competitive with the Google technology.
