To use for buying products from Apple stores

The iPhone's price has suddenly dropped yesterday with USD 200, only two months after it went on sale. Those who were planning on buying such a device now have a reason to praise Apple and hurry to achieve their decision. Still, the early adopters, mostly Apple fans, were outraged by the fact that the company waited so little time before making this move.

Certainly, nobody expected to see the 8GB iPhone drop at USD 400 so soon after its release. Only two months before this, people queued in front of Apple stores and considered it worth to spend USD 600 for an 8GB iPhone only to be among the first owners of such a device.

The decision to make the price cut so soon is surprising, especially when considering the fact that the handset is still selling pretty well. Apple wants to bring it to as many mobile phone users as possible, willing to make compromises. As there was no way to solve the other drawbacks that this device presented, a major price drop was the only way to make it appealing.

Still, it looks like the company has disappointed the early adopters, those who showed the most positive reaction to the company's new phone. In order to solve this problem, Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, has issued a letter to all iPhone customers, explaining on the company's decision to make their phone cheaper.

Moreover, he also announced the solution that he found for the dissatisfaction of the early adopters. "We need to do a better job taking care of our early iPhone customers as we aggressively go after new ones with a lower price. Our early customers trusted us, and we must live up to that trust with our actions in moments like these", Steve Jobs wrote.

As a result, all customers who purchased an iPhone from Apple or AT&T will receive a USD 100 store credit for using to purchase any other products at Apple Retail Stores or from the Apple Online Store. It still fails to cover the great difference, but price drops are common events when it comes to technology, which makes it less shocking to see it happen, even after such a short period.
