Although Apple is one of the most powerful companies in the entire world, it seems like the Mac producer now aims to attract more Windows developers to its solutions. Joe Wilcox from Microsoft Watch reported the company is aiming to attract Linux and Windows developers as well as IT professionals to Mac using the upcoming Worldwide Developer Conference. As you know, WWDC is an annually conference held by Apple in California meant to inform developers about the company's latest innovations and technologies. This year, the WWDC is scheduled for June 11 - June 15, a period of time often regarded as the perfect moment for the big launch of Leopard.

This latest version of Mac OS X, 10.5, was delayed several times, Apple sustained the operating system is not yet fully prepared for the release, avoiding to provide a certain launch date. Although it was scheduled for the spring of 2007, there are numerous rumors sustaining Apple will present Leopard at the WWDC.

Microsoft Watch had an interview with Ron Okamoto, the company's vice president of worldwide developer relations who said Apple is aiming to attract developers to buy a Mac.

"One-third of attendees are new to the Mac," he said. Okamoto said that WWDC will focus on three areas: Mac OS X 10.5, or "Leopard," Immersion Monday and Content Media. "Immersion Monday, which is part of the Mac OS X Essentials track (there are five others), will expose non-Mac developers to Apple operating systems and development tools. The focus clearly is on Windows developers," Joe Wilcox reported.

If you didn't know, Apple created a special page on the official website to encourage Windows users to buy a Mac. Apple made an interesting comparison with Microsoft's Windows Vista, sustaining a Mac is simple, more powerful and a lot more fun. If you want to view the page, you should click on this page.
