You will want one!

At MIX07 in the Venetian Hotel In Las Vegas, Microsoft made Apple's iPhone a thing of the past while the Cupertino device responsible for the October 2007 delay of Mac OS X Leopard is yet to hit the market. But simply put, the iPhone is no match for the new innovation standard that Microsoft's oFone is delivering. This is yet another case, a repeat of Windows Vista vs. Mac OS X when Microsoft has taken a clear lead over Apple.

The oFone makes the iPhone look obsolete, old and redundant, not only as a device but as a whole concept. There is no comparison between the two devices as they are not even in the same league. Apple's iPhone is nothing else but the past and Microsoft's oFone is the future, and I am willing to bet anything you want that you too will get one as soon as it will hit the shelves. It has circular text display, and it folds like nothing you have ever seen and it's also highly customizable.

Microsoft played its strategy perfectly. It announced repeatedly that it has no intentions of bundling phone capabilities into the Zune digital media player in order to compete with the Apple's iPhone. And while Apple was thrown off track and building the iPod phone, Microsoft was cooking oFone.

The oFone was officially announced by Robbie Bach, the president of the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft, and it is a wonderful video spoof that exemplifies the device. Just to be clear, Microsoft is not actually building the oFone. "I'll be clear: Any press in the audience, we are not announcing the oFone. Don't want anybody to get confused about that," stated Bach after the video presentation of the oFone at MIX07.
