Apple has released an update to its professional photography software application, Aperture. Version 2.1.3 is recommended to all Aperture 2 users, as it improves the stability of the software, while addressing several issues.

On Apple's Support section, the Aperture 2.1.3 update is described as follows:

About Aperture 2.1.3

This update improves overall stability and provides fixes for issues related to database integrity and compatibility with specific file types. The issues addressed include:   Nikon images imported directly from a camera now display thumbnails correctly in the Import window. Fixed an issue that could cause duplicate image versions to be created after rebuilding a library. Fixed a library issue that prevented operation of the Relocate or Consolidate commands in some circumstances.

The update is recommended for all users of Aperture 2.

Aperture is designed to assist professional photographers in the post-production work. The software is optimized for speed, using a powerful search engine and the Quick Preview mode for rapid-fire photo browsing. Thanks to these two elements that make up Aperture, even users working with large libraries will be able to get the best results. Employing an expanded suite of adjustment tools including Recovery, Vibrancy, Vignette, and a soft-edged Retouch brush – all with the highest-quality RAW processing –, professionals and casual users alike can enhance their photos with ease.
