It appears that Antec and Asetek have already made good on their decision to collaborate in the making of cooling modules, as a certain, previously-detailed product has become the subject a a press release.

The thing about air coolers is that, while they definitely can handle whatever heat a CPU generates, they can't really cope with serious overclocking scenarios.

Granted, some massive models do put up a good show in this regard, but the higher fan rotations settings inadvertently end up making too much noise.

That said, cooling based on liquid can better serve in such scenarios, or even those consumers that want that extra degree chipped off of their processors' operational temperature level.

Not long ago, Antec and Asetek, both known brands in the liquid cooling industry, decided to team up and make products capable of surpassing air coolers by up to 20%.

The first of them is now truly official, bearing the name of Kuhler H2O 620 and set to ship by the end of the month, for the price of $69.99.

It has a low profile pump, easy bend tubes, fans controlled by the liquid temperature and a copper cooling plate set on the CPU itself.

“With CPU cooling, today’s users care about four things: performance, low noise, ease-of-setup and price,” said Scott Richards, senior vice president at Antec.

“The new KUHLER H2O 620 switches it up and packs a remarkable amount of cooling in a compact solution, and one that delivers performance greater than many of the tall dual-fan CPU coolers that barely fit into a system.”

“Combining high performance and quiet computing has never been easier than with the KUHLER H2O 620 cooler’s liquid temperature fan control,” said Steve Branton, director of marketing at Asetek.

“Simply plug the fan into the pump and the cooler provides great performance when you need it and stays whisper quiet when you don’t.”
