Even as the rate of new IT product launches has slowed to a crawl, it seems that some companies are still taking the time to update their product launches, as proven by Antec, whose collection of cases just expanded.

The past week has been quite poor in new product announcements. The bulk of new devices already made their appearance at CES and most of the upcoming ones waiting for MWC or CeBIT.

There is also the issue with the Chinese Lunar New Year. Basically, this is a period of so-called industry silence.

Still, lest said silence become maddening, some IT players are still actively providing some updates, like Antec.

The outfit issued an official press release in which it describes the update to four of its cases, one of them being the Performance One Series P183.

It measures 514 (H) x 205 (W) x 507 (D) mm, features a double-hinged front door (opens at a 270-degree angle) and has two fans.

Said spinners are of the TriCool variety, have a diameter of 120 mm and are placed at the front and the rear, respectively.

"We're excited to release these new models in the Performance One and Gaming Case series as they offer users enhanced features to keep their leading-edge performance," said Scott Richards, senior vice president of Antec.

"With the new upgrades, these new models exemplify the customer-driven innovation that Antec is known for - users are going to love the increased flexibility and performance offered in these enclosures," he added.

Among the updates to the product are USB 3.0 ports to the front I/O panel, a CPU heatsink cut-out on the motherboard tray and two 2.5-inch drive bays on the inside.

All other specifications of the Antec Performance One P183 PC enclosure are unchanged and can be studied here, on the official product page. $179.95 is the price and a three-year warranty is included in the offer.
