While Antec's High Current Gamer power supplies have apparently been up for pre-order in Europe for quite a while, the official launch of the line has only now been made via an actual press release.

The collection of power supplies is composed of five models, with power outputs of 400 W, 520 W, 620 W, 750 W and 900 W, respectively.

In that order, they bear the more or less self-explanatory names of HCG-400, HCG-520, HCG-620, HCG-750 and HCG-900.

All of them use non-modular designs but have other assets, such as Japanese brand capacitors and gold-plated terminals, for heightened stability.

Other advantages are the active PFC and the MTBF of 100,000 hours, plus the energy efficiency of 88%, which actually gained them the 80Plus Bronze rating.

Furthermore, they all come with the same type of fan, a 135mm double ball bearing model.

Other specifications include compliance with the ATX12V v2.3 and EPS12V v2.91 standards and one 12V rail, except for the HCG-750 and HCG-900, which have four 12V rails each.

"Gamers and high-performance users looking for a top-notch solution to power demanding builds should look to Antec's High Current Gamer series," said Scott Richards, senior vice president of Antec.

"As the first consumer power supply line to offer a fully protected 40 amperes of maximum current on its +12V rails, the HCG gives users outstanding power capabilities needed to support the most current high-end graphics cards, extensive drive arrays and multi-core CPUs,” he added.

“The HCG is a striking example of Antec's ongoing dedication to producing innovative, reliable products that meet the latest needs of gamers and creative users,” Richards went on to saying.

End-users that are considering buying any of these PSUs will find them listed in Europe, at prices of 53 Euro (for the 400 W model), 65 Euro (500 W), 80 Euro (620 W), 106 Euro (750 W) and 120 Euro (900 W).
