With all the new hardware coming out, especially high-grade video cards, enthusiasts may end up needing an upgrade in terms of power output, so Antec thought it may as well start shipping a certain line of high-end PSUs.

The power supplies that are set to begin selling in time for the holiday season are known as the high Current Pro series.

Basically, this is a collection of high-output units with an efficiency that has earned them the 80Plus Gold rating.

In other words, their efficiency goes as high as 92%, which is significant considering that the actual wattages range from 750W to 1,200W.

"Antec's High Current Pro series is the optimal choice for users seeking a first-class solution to power demanding system builds," said Scott Richards, senior vice president of Antec.

"With all models achieving 80 PLUS Gold certification, providing unequaled efficiency and output, on all levels, and using top-notch components, the HCP series once again demonstrates Antec's leadership in power supply design and innovation," he added.

In tune with their status as high-end PSUs, the Antec HCP units use a double-layer PCB (printed circuit board) design, gold-plated high-current terminals and an active PFC (Power Factor Correction).

Furthermore, all of them boast 12V rails and, four to be exact, except for the 1,200W model, which has eight.

Not only that, but they feature a MTBF of 100,000 hours and 135mm double ball bearing PWN fans, although, again, the 1,200W model is different (it employs an 80mm rear fan).

Other specifications include Japanese-brand capacitors, operating temperature of up to 50 degrees and support for high-end Intel/AMD CPUs as well as multi-GPU setups, including NVIDIA triple-SLI on the 1,200W PSU.

Unfortunately, pricing details were not disclosed, but this final information should be made public once shipments start this month. A 5-year limited warranty on parts and labor will be included in the purchase.
