This is a good news-bad news sort of scenario. Those that had their eyes set on the release date of the “Man of Steel” sequel are going to have their hearts broken, but “Ant-Man” fans will be thrilled.

After the studio announced it was pushing back the release date on the Superman sequel from July 17, 2015 to May 6, 2016, it's now being revealed that “Ant-Man” is being pushed ahead to fill in the vacated slot, according to Variety.

The Edgar Wright-directed film is being pushed forward by two weeks, to premiere on July 17 instead of July 31, as it was first billed. This is the second time the movie gets an earlier release date, as it was initially supposed to hit theaters on November 5, 2015.

The film will be starring Paul Rudd as the new Ant-Man, Michael Douglas as the retired Ant-Man, Dr. Hank Pym, as well as several other actors that are still in the rumor phase.
