14 DAY TRIAL // Ansel Elgort may not have too many acting credits under his belt but he’s already one of the hottest and most popular actors of the younger generation. Handsome, funny, and most importantly talented, he also reveals himself as a very down-to-earth type of guy who loves nothing more in a woman than a strong sense of independence.
Ansel is 20 years old, and as of August 2013, he’s a single man. He tops the 50 most eligible bachelors list from the magazine Town & Country, whose previous issue had Clint Eastwood’s handsome son Scott on the cover.
He is in fine company as well.
Talented, famous but grounded
Ansel got his big break in the “Carrie” remake with Chloe Grace Moretz as the infamous Carrie. The film wasn’t a blockbuster, but it was received with warm praise by critics, which was more than enough to put him on the map with other industry people.
His next 3 roles would make him a star almost overnight: he appeared in “Divergent” (and will be seen this March in the sequel “Insurgent”), he did “Men, Women and Children” and he also starred in the heartbreaking cancer / love story in “The Fault of Our Stars.” That last one at least made millions of moviegoers weep more or less discreetly, and became a huge hit thanks to stellar performances from Elgort and Shailene Woodley.
Both “Divergent” and “The Fault in Our Stars” were based on best-selling novels with huge fanbases and support from the critics community, so the moment the films hit the big screen, Ansel had secured for himself a seat on the fame railway express.
He’s not fazed by it, though, not in the way you’d expect. Speaking with the magazine (video below), he explains that he still lives his life as he did before he “made it big,” still focusing on his music, hanging out with friends and trying to constantly find ways to better himself.
The lady of Ansel’s dreams
He’s not looking to put himself out there just for the sake of doing it, he explains: he wants to make good movies and good music, he wants to entertain.
He might also be looking for love, so all you young ladies reading this, listen up: Ansel doesn’t want someone who’s intimidated by his huge success or starstruck, he wants someone who’s independent and confident.
Ansel’s perfect young lady is someone who would approach him as if he were a regular boy and not a star, someone who wouldn’t think twice about blowing him off because she had to do her own stuff.
