The Motorola ic402 handset is a less costly cousin of the ic502.

We haven't heard for a long time anything new about iDEN/CDMA hybrid phones but now that time has come. The newly released Sprint Nextel ic402 Motorola handset is able to offer its users, besides the CDMA mode everybody knows and uses stateside, Nextel's iDEN communication technology which is the fastest push-to-talk technology available worldwide at this time. So, if you want to talk to one of your close friends, forget the old-fashioned style to make phone calls and instead push that walkie-talkie button on your newly bought cellphone and enjoy a clear sounding call wherever you might be.

Being a close cousin to the ic502 hybrid phone previously released for the customers of the same carrier, the ic402 features almost the same set of features with the exception of the external display and the tough shock resisting coating of its relative. This phone's future users will have at their disposal a 65k colors display working with a 128x160 resolution, support for Java J2ME technology, pre-installed games, an included 2.5 mm headset Jack, the already mentioned iDEN Push-to-Talk technology, a speakerphone and A-GPS location software.

If there are some of you that have fallen for this silver colored cellphone and really want to get their hands on it, you should head over the nearest Sprint Nextel mobile phone store and be ready to pay 40 $ after the rebates and signing the service agreement with the carrier. Not such a bad deal if you consider the fact that this device comes 20 $ cheaper than the ic502 relative and that it only lacks an external display.

Not to mention the better looks of this one compared to its tougher cousin's rugged shock resistant coating. You won't get that extra protection the ic502 delivers but, at least, you will be the one with the better looking phone :).
