Major companies plan on leaving GoDaddy if they keep supporting SOPA

Members of the infamous hacktivist collective released a video statement in which they accuse GoDaddy, the Internet domain seller, of supporting the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA).

“We have taken notice to your support of the United States Government's attempt to censor and control the internet. We are talking about your support of the Stop Online Privacy Act. The fact that a company that sells domains supports a bill that will block ISP's from allowing their users to access domains is unbelievable,” Anonymous said.

They urge all GoDaddy customers to stop using their services on December 29 and move to another domain host.

“You have made yourself an enemy of the internet, and an enemy to Anonymous,” they add.

They give Ben Huh, Cheeseburger CEO, as a positive example after he publicly announced that he would move his 1,000 domains from GoDaddy unless they drop their support for SOPA.
