The latest video announcement that seems to be coming from the infamous hacktivist collective reveals to the world the presence of a malicious worm that is already spreading on Facebook like a wild fire.

The Fawkes Virus, as it's called, is allegedly written by Anonymous programmers with the purpose of taking over as many devices as possible.

The worm, which attaches itself to a Facebook page, starts sending out malevolent links after which it gains access to accounts. Advanced self replication and remote abilities are just a few of the attributes of the malware that supposedly can allow the hackers to take total control over a computer.

"We did not expect the intensity in which it would spread," says the robotic voice.

"After the worm is under control Anonymous will use this to its advantage against corruption and as an alternative attack against its opponents."
