The hacktivists are aware that cyberattacks will not do any good

Members of the Anonymous movement have published a video statement on YouTube to draw attention to the current situation in the Central African Republic.

The situation in the African country has gone out of hand after Muslim Seleka rebels took over. Christians and the ousted president’s people have been trying to fight back.

Last week, Reuters reported that France decided to deploy 1,600 soldiers in an effort to restore order in the country’s former colony.

Anonymous members say this situation cannot be addressed with cyberattacks.

“We will do everything in our ability to give the people in the Central African Republic every necessity. Water, food, aid supplies is scarce and is being a high necessity to the people,” they noted.

“We are doing this for the sake of the people, we could care less about the politics behind it. When innocent, peaceful people get hurt, beaten, abused and tortured. We act,” the hacktivists added.
