The hacktivists want to put a stop to the killings

A few days ago, Anonymous hackers announced the initiation of OpGabon, a campaign meant to raise awareness regarding the situation of the people from Gabon.

“The most gruesome murders are happening to children, men and women, with total impunity, in a country where Ali Bongo puts the army on every street corner every night,” the hackers stated.

“How can crimes of this scale continue to be unpunished? The answer is because the criminals are the people who rule the country. What can be expected of a politician who relies on ritual killings to boost his chances to remain in the government? In Gabon, the citizens are the prey of those in power,” they noted.

As part of OpGabon, Anonymous plans to initiate a Twitter storm on April 13, raise signatures for petitions, and flood Gabon government officials with requests to put an end to the killings.
