The hacktivists have released a statement detailing their motives

Some Anonymous hackers have published a video statement threatening police in Wisconsin for assaulting peaceful protesters.

Ever since March 2011, when Governor Scott Walker passed anti-union legislation, people have been gathering outside the Wisconsin State Capitol every weekday to protest.

Although the protests are peaceful, over the past period they’ve become less and less tolerated by authorities.

Hacktivists decided to step in last week, when police assaulted a few protesters, including one Damon Terrell who was allegedly only photographing the protests.

“We demand that all further police interaction with the protestors stop. If you do not listen to the peoples wishes. And the laws you swore to uphold we will not listen to you or Governor Scott Walker. We have your names, addresses, and more and not afraid to share it with the world. If need be we will have our lulz,” the hackers said.

So far, no actions have been announced and the operation doesn’t appear to be supported by many hacktivists. It remains to be seen if any of the threats materialize.
