The official websites of a number of Austrian members of parliament have been breached and defaced by hacktivists claiming to be part of Anonymous Salzburg.

According to Vienna.at, the targeted sites belong to Norbert Hofer, Günter Kößl, Karin Hakl, and Karl Donabauer.

The hackers launched the attack one month before the legislative elections scheduled for September 29. Anonymous Salzburg claims it will be keeping an eye on the country’s representatives and they will take further measures if necessary.

Austria’s Ministry of Interior reports that an investigation has been launched by the country’s Federal Agency for State Protection and Counter Terrorism (BVT).

At the time of writing, the impacted websites have been restored, except for the one of Karl Donabauer which currently displays an “account disabled by server administrator” message.
