35-year-old James Raj Arokiasamy of Singapore has been charged with hacking into the website of the Ang Mo Kio town council from an apartment in Malaysia. He’s said to be the Anonymous hacker that uses the online moniker “The Messiah.”

The alleged hacker was arrested on November 4 in Malaysia. He was handed over to Singapore authorities the next day.

According to Channel News Asia, he has only been charged for the attack on the town council’s website. However, police say he’s also behind the cyberattacks on the websites of The Straits Times, the City Harvest Church's co-founder, and the People's Action Party Community Foundation.

Arokiasamy also faces three drug charges. So far, his lawyer has not been allowed to see him.

Another noteworthy thing is that prosecutors had the suspect tested for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. They claimed that Arokiasamy had told the police that he suffered from this mental disorder.

He doesn’t have such an illness, but apparently the alleged hacker denied ever saying he did, claiming that police took his words out of context.
