It’s been called the all-time “fashion bible” so it’s only normal to feature some of the biggest names out there. A new report says Anna Wintour is still working hard to get Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton for the cover of Vogue US.

If one is to believe word online, Kate has been approached once before, right ahead of her April wedding into the Royal Family, to do the cover of Vogue, but she turned it down because she didn’t think the timing was right.

Wintour has now doubled her efforts to get the Duchess for the cover, a new report in PageSix says. She’s even resorted to using good friend photographer Mario Testino to render more weight to her offer.

The fact that Kate is considered a very chic and elegant trendsetter would make her perfect for the cover.

“Peruvian-born Testino is famed for his iconic photographs of Diana, Princess of Wales, and has remained a close family friend, photographing William, his brother, Prince Harry, and Prince Charles. Testino also took William and Kate’s official engagement photo,” the publication notes.

By turning to Testino for help, Wintour is hoping to get an early start in the race to land the Duchess. Admittedly, every respectable magazine is trying to do the same.

“Anna has been speaking to Mario about winning over Kate. She is really pressing him to shoot Kate for the cover,” a source says of Wintour’s efforts to see Kate on the cover of Vogue.

So far, they’ve yet to come to fruition.

“Every magazine has been trying to get Kate, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue. But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it is not clear when this will happen. The Palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Kate,” another insider further says.
