Editor in Chief is pulling all the stops to get “It Girl” to pose for the magazine

Word is that Vogue magazine is one of the few fashion publications that still refuses to be more inclusive of other body types, mostly because of famed Editor in Chief Anna Wintour. According to the latest report, she’s ready for a change.

And she’s set her eyes on the hottest “It Girl” right now, writer and actress Lena Dunham, whom fans know from the HBO series “Girls,” Radar Online reports.

Insiders tell the tab that Wintour is desperate to get the actress on the cover of the magazine, presumably the January or the February issue. She’s even willing to break her own rule and put someone who isn’t rail-thin on it, as long as she’s Lena.

The first step towards that is “hosting a top secret, private dinner for the 27-year-old actress,” meant to get the two together in a friendly environment, an insider reveals.

Wintour knows a solid possibility when she sees one, and she knows Lena is a hot commodity right now. In other words, getting her on the cover of Vogue would instantly translate into a boost in sales.

“Anna is trying to seduce Lena into bringing her next-generation audience into the Vogue brand. And she’s willing to violate a lot of Vogue traditions to do it, including putting her on the cover even though she doesn’t really conform to the body type that Vogue has featured for most of its history,” an insider explains.

The only other woman who “doesn’t’ really conform to the body type” Vogue favors, who has been featured on a cover, is British songbird Adele. In all honesty, her cover came when she was doing wonderfully in her career, nabbing awards by the dozen, selling millions of albums, and breaking record after record.

Lena is almost as hot right now, only in television, which would explain why Wintour wants her so badly.

“This dinner is a first step for Anna to see if Lena will play ball. But Anna’s perspective is that they need each other,” the insider explains.
