You can't have come this far without knowing what anime is, you must have had a little brother, sister or at least your nephew that yelled seamlessly in your ear for about two hours that he/she wants the Pikachu toy that was on display in the mall earlier in the day.

The worldwide phenomenon has its roots in the Japanese pop-culture, but ever since, it has spread and swarmed over everybody like locusts, leaving nobody untouched. I've even heard people calling each other anime names on the street as a sort of a joke. I'm sure Snorrlax isn't the best way to be called when being with your girlfriend, but hey, that must be some very special friendship those two had.

Seeing as this trend is continuously on the rise, the company behind New York Comic Con has now created a festival devoted entirely to anime: The New York Anime Festival that featured some "exclusive anime screenings manga, cosplay, video games, live-action Japanese cinema, Japanese fashion and food", as the YouTube Blog said.

In case you weren't in New York last week in order to catch the festivities, or you were but you just didn't know about it, have no fear, YouTube is here and is more than willing to help. IFCNews decided to bring the festival to you, wherever you are. It uploaded the videos filmed there and now you can find them on the Film & Animation page, on Google's video sharing site.

Even if you're not that age any more, I'm certain that there's something for you to find, it's just that YouTube can't host it, you'd have to go to others' sites for that kind of anime, if you get my drift.

Just a random thought to close the subject: what IFCNews did was in accordance with the respective owners' copyrights? There was nothing mentioned about that, so I'm just venturing a guess?
