The PetCam series turns animals into photographers

Not so long ago, popular life-logging camera manufacturer, GoPro, launched a doggy-friendly harness that mounted two GoPro cams on top of your pooch.

So folks who spend their lives wondering what it is like to be a dog must have been very excited.

But what about how it feels to be a hamster or a cat or a cow or a chicken? Those options were left out by the GoPro team, but San Diego-based photographer, Chris Keeney comes to fill that void.

His latest book is entitled PetCam and contains images of whatever cute animals you might have around your house (or outside in the back yard for that matter) wearing light cameras.

The book also offers a collection of first-pet perspective photographs depicting their daily activities. The cameras were chosen to be as lightweight as possible in order not to hinder the animal’s free movement.

The beast-friendly cameras were programed to snap a photo over a set period of time ranging from a few seconds to a few minutes.

The results show the animal’s whereabouts as they go exploring their environment throughout the day, so expect to see a lot of parks, backyards, grass, sand and so on.

PetCam is up for grabs in hardcover options from Amazon for $12 / €9, so if you are curious to see the world form a different perspective, go ahead and Add to Cart.
