A new appealing game from Rovio is now available for download for the owners of Windows Phone 8 devices, namely Angry Birds Star Wars II.

The title, teased for a few months now, has finally landed on the official app store for the platform, with a price tag of $0.99 (€0.75) attached to it.

The new mobile game builds on the success of its predecessors and comes with a gameplay similar to what users could enjoy before, but adds a few welcomed surprises to the mix.

In Angry Birds Star Wars II, users can join the Pork Side, which means that there will be more playable characters at their disposal.

“You can use the Force for good, popping pigs in the sneaky, greedy Pork Federation…or you can go over to the Pork Side,” Microsoft’s Michael Stroh explains in a blog post.

“There, as the feared Darth Maul, Emperor Palpatine and others, you’ll see the game and your mission in a whole new light.”

Rovio’s new blockbuster was developed based on the Star Wars movie prequels and comes with 120 levels for users to enjoy. Angry Birds Star Wars II also features support for social networks out there.

Furthermore, it provides the owners of Windows Phone 8 devices with the possibility to play characters such as Anakin, Mace Windu, Darth Maul, and even Jar Jar Binks.

This is the first installment in the popular Angry Birds series to enable users to play as the pigs, offering superpowers such as Darth Maul’s double-bladed Lightsaber, and more.

“Our biggest line-up ever of playable characters – Yoda, pod-racing Anakin, Mace Windu, Jango Fett and many more,” Rovio notes in the game’s description.

“So many Bird and Pork Side levels to master, plus a bonus reward chapter and a ton of achievements to unlock!”
