Rovio’s first sequel to the popular Angry Birds series, Bad Piggies, is now officially available to the masses. Downloadable on most of today’s popular platforms, including iOS and OS X, Bad Piggies has players creating machines to pilot the pigs to the eggs.

This time around, you’re in the bad guys’ camp, but the plan hasn’t changed a bit. Although nothing is going according to the plan, as usual, Rovio is careful to point out.

“Those tricky pigs have a few objects they can use, but they need your help to turn these into the perfect transportation!”

So you need to create the perfect flying/crawling/rolling/spinning/crashing device to drive the pigs “safely” to the birds’ eggs.

There are 33 objects to choose from to create vehicles, including motors, wings, fans, bottle rockets, umbrellas, balloons, and more.

You get 60 levels for now, with another 30 waiting for unlocking (by three-starring levels). The usual free updates are already in the pipeline, and there’s an “ultra-special, ultra-secret, ultra-difficult sandbox level to unlock by collecting all the skulls,” says the Finnish development studio behind the game.

They’ve set up a Facebook page where you can stay on top of all the action, as well as a new Twitter handle which you can follow to hear the latest news and updates straight from the developers.

Rovio ends its announcement with a valuable piece of advice for avid players. Those who want to achieve all the objectives will have to play some levels more than once. The studios tip – “try building a new device or steering in a different way to earn all the stars!”
