14 DAY TRIAL // Angelina Jolie’s impressive collection of tattoos has always been fascinating for both the fans and the media, especially considering that she continued to add to it well after her “rebellion” phase that started it all. Today, even her 6 children with fiancé Brad Pitt are “obsessed” with it, claims a new report.
For some women, this kind of fascination and even controversy is welcome attention, but Jolie never really paid too much attention to the hype around her tattoos, even though, at the time she started having them done, you didn’t really see that many tattooed women (or men, for that matter) in Hollywood (or everywhere else).
Today, she has no other choice but to pay attention to the hype because it’s being made by her kids. According to the latest news from Us Weekly, all her boys and girls are “obsessed” with her body art and “are constantly asking questions about it.”
That in itself wouldn’t be that bad because questions can always be answered, one way or another. The problem for Jolie is that her kids are telling her they want to get tattoos too because she has them.
Seeing how her eldest boy, Maddox, is only 12 and her youngest kids, twins Vivienne and Knox, are 5, Angelina has to come up with answers that will satisfy them, because they come with a refusal too.
“They are obsessed with her tattoos and always ask what they mean. [She is] happy to explain her tats to the kids,” an insider reveals for the publication, adding that Pax is the one who’s most insistent about getting one as well. “Angie tells him he has plenty of time,” adds the spy.
Angelina Jolie has about 13 tattoos scattered all over her body, from the lower back to the hip bone, her arms and her neck. All of them have deeply personal meanings to her, from the writing “Know Your Rights” on the back of her neck, to the arm tattoo that has all latitude and longitude for the birth places of all the kids and Brad.
Initially, in the same spot, Angelina had a dragon, to which she added “Billy Bob,” the name of her first husband. When they divorced, she had both inks lasered off and she covered the scar with these geographical coordinates.
She also has a giant tiger on her lower back, a cross on her hip bone, and a tattoo on her inner thigh that no one has seen in public and which she would only describe by saying it’s “for Brad.”
