Angelina Jolie is set to star as the evil witch from the classic children's tale “The Sleeping Beauty” in the modern reinterpretation called “Maleficent.” To celebrate the coming of the movie on the big screen, the actress has teamed up with fashion designer Stella McCartney for a little surprise. WWD reports that Angie and Stella are creating a clothing line for kids, that is going to be based on her upcoming movie “Maleficent.” The collection, which also includes the famous horned headdress, will become available starting April 14.

If any of you parents out there want to impress the kids and dress them up as their favorite Disney character, you can pick up costumes from the collection in McCartney stores and Disney retails stores all over the world.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Disney growing up, as was my mother, and I grew up watching all the films like most kids did,” said McCartney about the collection. She is not a stranger to Disney collaborations, having worked with Tim Burton on a jewelry collection for “Alice in Wonderland.”

Stella adds, “When the opportunity presented itself and I was invited by Angelina Jolie to visit the film set, I jumped at the chance.”

When asked about the inspiration upon which she drew for the collection, she explains, “There is a bit of a darkness to ‘Maleficent’ which can be really scary at times but at the same time visually brilliant.”

The kids collection is going to include eight styles of princess dresses and sandals, as well as some “edgy” T-shirts and sneakers for a more urban look. The clothes are aimed at girls and boys between the ages of four and fourteen and has a prince range of $75 (€54.3) to $185 (€134).

The interesting fact is that 10 percent of the sales made in Stella McCartney stores as well as those made online will benefit the SOS Children's Villages, an organization that works to provide homes for children in need.

As for Angelina, you can see her on screen starting May 30, as she looks set to take on the role of the evil witch Maleficent in the movie that focuses its attention not only on Sleeping Beauty, played by Elle Fanning, but also on how exactly Maleficent was transformed from a wood fairy into a mean-spirited and troubled sorceress.

The film promises lots of visual excitement, as the trailers and photos have revealed spectacular special effects, as well as an incredible transformation for Angelina Jolie, who manages to capture the essence of the evil witch perfectly.
