Actress Angelina Jolie confirmed two rumors today, which included some good news and some bad news. The good news is that she will be starring on screen as Cleopatra in a movie with the same name, that's been rumored to be in the making for years. The bad news is that this role is going to be her last.

In a recent interview, Angelina, who is currently enjoying massive success with her latest movie, “Maleficent,” out in theaters now, has confirmed that she will soon be parting ways with her acting career. Fortunately, she'll end it on a high note, with a role that is said will wow audiences.

“For Cleopatra, we've been working on it. There's been lots of different ideas of directors and a lot of different discussions. The script has been written by Eric Roth, who is a dear friend and a brilliant writer,” the actress revealed.

The actress thinks the role is perfect for her and she's keen to bring on the screen the complexity of the renowned historical figure that has been played by many iconic actresses in the past, including Elizabeth Taylor.

“She's complicated, it's complicated to get this one right. She's complicated. But I think we're getting there. It's very close. So if we can pull it off...I imagine that the preparation for it is going to be big,” Angelina said about the role.

Although she’s only 38 year old, Jolie has already set her eyes firmly on the day she's going to make her exit from in front of the cameras, “ It's one of those [roles] you feel like maybe that's the one you put everything into and that's where you end it. That's where you finish, in a great way. You kind of go, 'What could you do beyond that one?' Put it all into that one.”

Don't worry though, you'll still be hearing from Angelina Jolie in the future, she's not dropping out of public life. She's just going to focus more on her directorial career and her humanitarian work. At the moment, she serves as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Let's not forget that Angelina also has her eyes set on a political career, something which requires a lot of credibility, so dropping out of acting might be the best way to achieve a better image. In fact, her political aspirations will go hand in hand with her directorial career, giving her the opportunity to present strong messages in her films.
