Angelina Jolie is now promoting “The Tourist” and Matt Lauer was one of the few lucky enough to score an interview with her for The Today Show, ahead of the big premiere. See the video below for it.

While she sat down with Matt, the actress opened up on questions like the celebrity / fame game, children, her co-star Johnny Depp and plans for a future career behind the camera, as a director.

Just like in previous interviews, Jolie has only wonderful things to say about Depp, whose sense of humor and kind heart she can’t but appreciate. She also reveals she had to take “manners classes” for her part.

“I’m not completely clumsy or gross,” Jolie tells Lauer when he brings the classes up. Still, she had to portray a character that was far more stylish than she is in real life, for the simple reason that she doesn’t have the time to be so.

“But I’m not…There’s something about this type of woman… she doesn’t come naturally to me. She takes her time with everything. I’m am American, I get [makes hand gesture]… I get ten things done before breakfast,” Jolie says with a smile.

Given that she’s a mother of six, a working woman and a charitable body as well, it’s only understandable that she be so strict with her schedule.

Angelina Jolie doesn’t consider herself a celebrity, she admits, and she believes the frenzy around her will subside one day – perhaps when she makes the move from actress to director completely.

“I don’t find myself that interesting in that way. But I feel like it happens to everybody. It’s just that it’s a weird time right now. There’s just so much of all of that, for everybody. It’s just, it’s a new world,” she says.

“I just assume the older I get, the more it’ll go away. The more private I’ll become,” Jolie adds. She will also try to hide behind the camera – she’s just completed her first film as a director.

Asked about her children, Jolie doesn’t go into specifics, but she does say that she wants them to be themselves and to know they’re loved.

“Hopefully they are happy, and they know that they were loved, and that they were encouraged to be who they are, and not pushed into something that they’re not. Hopefully they’ll be the strong, beautiful individuals that they are today, and be happy in their lives, be fulfilled in their lives, and be living their lives honestly,” she says.

Below is a video of the interview. Enjoy.
