14 DAY TRIAL // Angelina Jolie has always been painted in the media as this woman who has no female friends and who is usually very aloof and maybe even downright cold in the company of other ladies. The star herself once said that she “mostly” talked to Brad and that she didn’t “really” have close female friends.
Apparently, this has become a huge problem in the planning of her wedding to longtime partner and fiancé Brad Pitt because she has no one to ask to stand by her side as a bridesmaid on her big day.
Radar Online reports that this bridesmaid “crisis” has made Jolie postpone the wedding indefinitely. Unless she can come up with a bridesmaid, the actress plans to just wait for daughter Shiloh to “grow into the duty.” Shiloh is 8 right now, so who knows how that long might take.
“They might let a lot more time go by before tying the knot because she doesn’t have any close women pals she can call on to stand up for her at the ceremony. Angelina’s told Brad that they can’t marry until Shiloh’s old enough to be her bridesmaid,” an insider says for the e-zine.
Another source claims that Jolie has recently become closer to Elle Fanning, her 16-year-old co-star in Disney’s “Maleficent,” and to Bella Heathcote, who is 27, “but she doesn’t really have a special girlfriend in her own peer group who’s been friends with her for years.”
“Angie’s just one of those women who prefer the company of men,” adds the spy.
If you recall a couple of older interviews of comedienne and talk show host Chelsea Handler from 2012 and 2013, she said pretty much the same. In between saying Jolie was “kinda evil” and “a demon,” Handler told the world what she thought of a woman who had no female friends and, as a clue, it starts with “b” and ends in “itch.”
Then again, at the time this happened, Handler was very close to Jennifer Aniston, aka the woman on whom Brad Pitt (allegedly) cheated with Jolie during the making of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” There was some speculation then that Handler was only saying these things either because this was her way of “protecting” her friend (i.e. by attacking her rival) or because Aniston had put her to it.
As for all this talk that Jolie is pushing back the wedding because she doesn’t have a bridesmaid, it’s best taken at face value. For what it’s worth, she and Brad never announced a wedding date and, in her more recent interviews, Jolie said they weren’t even planning because they weren’t exactly considering the ceremony a priority.
