Victoria’s Secret models, also known as the Angels, are famous around the world for their toned bodies and gorgeous curves, which is not what can also be said about the so-called high fashion models, who have to be as thin as possible. Aussie Miranda Kerr is the latest celebrity to come under fire for losing her curves to high fashion, as the Daily Mail puts it – without merit, Kerr shoots back.

The model has been taking some serious heat in the British media these past 24 hours – with the Mail leading the pack – after several photos of her on a photoshoot in Sydney, Australia surfaced on the Internet. The once normal sized Kerr seemed much thinner in them, which has prompted talk of her starving herself and becoming “emaciated.” The problem is, Kerr says in a press statement, that her weight hasn’t fluctuated at all in these past 3 or 4 years.

“The photo was taken at an angle and I was hunched over in an extreme pose that made me look thinner than I am. The fact is I have been the same weight for three or four years. This is my natural body weight and I don’t want to be scrutinized for just being me, just like someone overweight doesn’t want to be scrutinized for just being them. I am healthy and fill my body with the right foods. I wouldn’t be able to travel around the world and work if I wasn’t taking care of myself.” Kerr says in a statement quoted by thaindian.

“It seems her ambition to make the usually impossible leap from commercial modeling to fairytale world of couture has seen her dramatically drop weight to make the transition. […] The 26-year-old Australian cut a distinctly emaciated on a fashion shoot for magazine Grazia in Sydney. From the back she looked virtually unrecognizable as she posed in a tightly laced corset on the rooftop of the Museum of Contemporary Art. Miranda’s ribs protruded, and her skin was tightly stretched across her bony back. Her thin arms also looked extremely sinewy.” the Mail was writing in one of yesterday’s articles.

Be that as it may, Kerr’s supporters argue, the Mail should have taken into consideration the angle from which the snaps were taken before speculation on her so-called weight loss.
