The third T-Mobile Android phone

Wireless carrier Deutsche Telekom announced today the release of a new Android-based mobile phone in the form of T-Mobile Pulse, a handset manufactured by Huawei. The new device, Deutsche Telekom states, comes to the market with fast Internet access capabilities, as well as with support for the MyCommunity and Media Center services.

The new T-Mobile Pulse arrives to the market as the third handset available from T-Mobile with the Google Android operating system on it. The new smartphone is expected to land on the market as soon as October 2009. T-Mobile plans on offering the handset to its users for a price tag of EUR 4.95 in conjunction with the Combi Flat S rate.

What the new phone can deliver to T-Mobile's subscribers includes direct access to popular Internet services, including Google, Google Mail and Google Maps, as well as personalization options through downloadable applications available at the Android Market. Moreover, the carrier also stresses on the fact that this is the first Android phone in its lineup that features support for the MyCommunity and Media Center services.

The specifications list of the new device also shows a Qualcomm 7200A 528MHz processor, 256MB of flash memory, a TFT color display that boasts a 480 x 320 pixel resolution and support for 16 million colors, a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video recording capabilities, built-in GPS receiver, MicroSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage space, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB connectivity options and 3.5 mm audio adapter.

The handset comes with HSPA technology on board and can offer up to 7.2 Mbps downstream and 2 Mbps upstream connectivity speeds. Quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) and GPRS/EDGE Class 10 are also included in the package, as well as a battery that can deliver up to 210 minutes of talk time or up to 3,000 hours of standby time. The new T-Mobile Pulse measures 135 x 62.5 x 13.6 mm and weighs 135 g.
