14 DAY TRIAL // Android 5.1 just got confirmed by Google a few days ago. References to the new build have been spotted on the company’s Android One official website in Indonesia.
A few hours afterwards, a bunch of photos showed up revealing real-life Android One devices actually running on the new build, so we had to assume that these models were already shipping out to customers in the country.
References to Android 5.1 popped up ever since last December when we were told that the new build will be making its way into the wild in February. Well, we’re currently traversing February so we should be expecting to hear more and more about Android 5.1.
Will Android 5.1 reach the Moto G among the first?
The folks of Tech Droider have managed to dig out another piece of information related to upcoming Android build.
Take into consideration that for the time being we haven’t heard any info related to when we can expect to see this new build start rolling out to devices.
But given the image we’re about to share with you, the launch might not be far away.
A second-generation Motorola Moto G was spotted running on Android 5.1. The software has been dated to February 2, and in all possibility, it is probably currently in testing at the company’s headquarters.
The image has been forwarded by one of the website’s followers, so we can’t really say whether this is the real deal or not. So for the time being you better take this info with a big grain of salt.
Motorola has been one of the first companies to provide the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to its customers, so it’s not beyond reasonable doubt that the Moto G will be among the first to be updated to Android 5.1 too.
Not a lot is known about Android 5.1
For the time being, we don’t know too much about the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. Chances are it’s going to be a big one, packed with lots of bug fixes and other tasty treats.
We also have hopes that the new build will manage to bring back the absconded Silent Mode which got axed in the original Android 5.0 build.
