For those of you who own a Nexus 7 2013 on Verizon, but so far haven’t been able to tap into the carrier’s LTE network despite having the necessary hardware, we have good news.

It appears that your woes are going to be solved after the Android KitKat update arrives, sometime later this month.

Remember that Verizon promised that it would get the Nexus 7 4G LTE certified, but nothing has been heard of it ever since. Now a company spokesperson talked to AndroidPolice and provided a reason for the silence.

According to the information, Verizon stumbled upon a “systems issue” while performing its tests on the Nexus 7. Asus and Google have been notified of the problem, but they have opted to halt the certification process until Android KitKat comes out.

After the new update comes, we can’t tell you for sure how much longer you’ll have to wait before you can finally activate your Nexus 7 on the Verizon LTE network. The carrier hasn’t provided any info on the topic, yet.
