The new build has started rolling out for the new devices not so long ago

Back in April it was announced that Lenovo’s popular tablet duo, the Yoga 8 and Yoga 10, which are Asthon Kutcher curated products, would be receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Then in June, the company complied with its promise and started rolling out the new build for the tablets. But as it frequently happens with many such software updates, the new version brought about a pretty annoying and pesky issue.

Users have taken the issue on the official Lenovo Forums where they are asking for help.

“Is anybody else having problems watching on Netflix after updating to 4.4.2 on a Yoga 8? I'm getting messed up pixels and green/purple pixels all over the screen now every time I watch a video ever since the update, thus making it unwatchable.”

“Oh, and the volume buttons are messed up when the tablet is placed upside down, looks like somebody messed up badly in the QA department for this update,” complains kolythee.

Not only Netflix seems to be at fault here, but other apps too. As Boy1der puts it, “I am having the same issue with netflix. Also HBO go app is crashing too. I should have just stuck with Jelly bean. Is there any way to revert back to Jelly bean? Very disappointed, Netflix and HBO is one of the reasons I have a tablet.”

Some users have provided us with a few screenshots highlighting the issue, and you can easily see the green pixilation issue is making the videos almost unwatchable. A Lenovo representative steps forth and says the company is looking into the issue.

In the meantime, some users have tried installing the new Netflix update, but that didn’t do anything to solve the problems. However, user kennyxix has found a fix for the problem.

“Hey guys, check this out

“Near the bottom of page 31 there are instructions and a link to download an older version of Netflix. I did this and Netflix is working again. Actually better than it ever did.”

Therefore, the solution seems to be downgrading your Netflix app, a workaround that appears to be a positive hit for most of the users. However, as some Yoga owners suggest this is just a temporary fix, not a final, permanent solution.

Are you having Netflix troubles, as well?
