Back in February, we told you Samsung officially announced it planned bringing the Android 4.4 KitKat update to its line of tablets, including the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), Galaxy Note 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 3 series

Back then, Samsung didn't offer a timeline for when that might happen, so we were left waiting for the new build to arrive. Two months later, SamMobile reports the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the high-end Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) has finally been rolled out.

This impressive tablet was officially launched alongside the Galaxy Note 3 back in September 2013.

The new build should bring to the tablet the much-craved-for KitKat features and improvements, such as faster/smoother performance, white status bar icons, full-screen album art, new camera shortcut on lock screen, wireless printing support, new option for choosing default home/SMS apps, improved sound controls for certain Samsung apps and overall stability improvements.

For the moment, the update has been spotted in Columbia and has arrived on the Wi-Fi only variant (SM-P600) but we can expect it to appear in other regions soon.

As usual, the new Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update will be pushed to users gradually, meaning the time of arrival will vary depending on device, model and region.

Anyway, when your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) is eligible to receive the new update, you should see a system update message in the notification area alerting you if the build has arrived. Or you could check for yourself in the Settings Menu under About Tablet> System Updates > Check Now.

Photography lovers will discover two cameras onboard (an 8MP one on the back and a 2MP one in front) plus Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS. Samsung has added a massive 8,220 mAh battery inside, so you can be sure power won’t run out while you’re in the middle of things.
