The day before the factory images for the tablet were posted

Yesterday I told you Google had posted the Android 4.4.4 KitKat factory images for the Nexus 7 (2013) LTE tablet, months after it had done the same for the Wi-Fi version of the slate.

Even if the day before the OTA update wasn't available, making the customary way of pushing an update obsolete for owners of the LTE model, the situation has changed overnight.

The Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA (over-the-air) update is rolling out as we speak and will be hitting your tablet as a 2.4MB package, as reported by Android Central.

The small build will bump your tablet up to the latest Android build and bring out some minor bug fixes in the process.

Factory images are usually posted by Google as a way to help those folks who have been tinkering with their devices and now want to reset things and go back to the stock version of Android.

Anyway, like most OTA updates, this one will also be rolled out gradually, which means you might have to wait a while before receiving a notification that Android 4.4.4 KitKat has made it to your tablet.

If you don’t want to do that, you can go ahead and download the factory images from Google and update the tablet manually by yourself.
