Yesterday news of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update for the Samsung Note 8.0 tablet rolling out in South Korea reached us.

And as expected, the new build has arrived in other territories, as well. Now GSMInsider notes that owners of the international version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 in Poland are reporting they have been receiving the update over-the-air.

Naturally, the new build will grant access to the usual KitKat features we have seen in other devices, including bumped performance, white status bar icons, full-screen album art on lock screen, wireless printing support and improved battery life.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 was launched a year ago at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, Spain, so it’s good to see that Sammy is taking care of its older devices too.

The tablet is one of Samsung’s mid-range products and comes with an 8-inch TFT display and 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. The powerhouse of the tablet is an Exynos 4412 quad-core processor fitted with 2GB of RAM.

Originally, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 was pre-loaded with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and Samsung pushed the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Been update about 7 months ago, so Android 4.4.2 KitKat is a welcome addition.
