For better performance, improved data management and Face Unlock

Samsung promised to roll out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system to all of its Galaxy Tab slates.

The latest step in that direction is the release of the update package for the Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE and Galaxy Tab 10.1 in South Korea, the corporation's home market.

This comes after the Tab 10.1 was updated in Europe and the United States.

To enact the software revision, owners have to download the latest version of Kies.

Once the installation is complete, owners of either device will get to experience the Face Unlock feature (login permission based on user likeness), as well as better data management and performance, among other things.

South Korean citizens need only go here to start the procedure. The use of Wi-Fi is recommended, as the download may very well go over their carrier data plan limit.
