T-Mobile USA is expected to start pushing the hotly anticipated Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich update for HTC Sensation 4G today.

In addition, the carrier confirmed that HTC Amaze 4G was currently scheduled to receive the same update beginning May 21.

Even though we already know HTC Sensation 4G is reportedly receiving the update now, T-Mobile USA is known for delivering software updates and then pulling them quickly due to various issues. Hopefully, it won’t be the case with HTC Sensation 4G and Amaze 4G updates.

Aside from bringing the phones’ software to version Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, the updates with also upgrade the HTC Sense UI to 3.6. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that neither will get HTC Sense 4 UI.

T-Mobile USA customers who own either of the two smartphones should know their devices will receive the following new features:

- System bar enhancements to easily view recent apps; - Re-sizeable widgets; - Lock screen actions including pull down notifications and adjust volume while device is locked; - Data usage controls; - Face Unlock; - Home screen folders.

It is also worth mentioning that once HTC Sensation 4G is updated to Android 4.0.3 ICS, owners will be required to add Wi-Fi Mobile Hotspot feature in order to user the service again.

Furthermore, the latest version of Google’s mobile platform brings several improvements and tweaks that will enhance user’s overall experience: - Improved battery life; - Improved text input and spell-checking; - Improved menu structure.

To manually check for the update simply go to Settings / About phone / HTC software updates / Check now, and follow the on-screen prompts.

We recommend users to back up their personal data stored on the phone prior to installing this update. Also, make sure the phone’s battery is at least 50% charged and the Wi-Fi connection is stable.
