Mountain View-based Internet giant Google is readying the release of a new version of its mobile operating system, namely Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and the platform flavor has just made an appearance in an official video from the company.

Of course, the said video, which was a tutorial from Google Hong Kong, aimed at offering additional details on Google Voice Search, has been already pulled off the web, although some lucky people already managed to take screenshots and save a copy of it.

Courtesy of Engadget, you can have a look at the said video below, so as to have a look at those Gingerbread elements that were spotted by enthusiasts (from 0:47).

The handset on which Google Voice Search is being demonstrated seems to be Nexus One, while the Gingerbread elements that can be seen there include a black status tray with new icons, as well as a somehow tweaked launcher bar placed at the bottom of the home screen.

At the same time, the video shows that there would be restyled buttons in Settings, along with a new tab called 'Related' (or 'Similar') on Market's app description page.

All in all, it seems that these changes are in line with what was previously rumored on the matter, namely that Gingerbread would arrive on shelves with a series of graphical changes.

For the time being, there have been no official announcements made on what the next Android flavor would include, but is should not be too long before the official unveiling is made.

Google confirmed not too long ago that the new Android iteration would be brought into the wild in a matter of weeks. The release should happen before the end of the ongoing year.

Until more on the matter emerges, you can have a look at the video embedded below to make an idea on some of the changes that Gingerbread would bring to Android devices.
