Coming out was not a “ratings ploy to boost ratings”

Anderson Cooper is not the guy you want to make derogatory comments about if you’re in the public eye, especially when it comes to his orientation. On his most recent show, he called out Star Jones, who said his coming out earlier this year was a “ratings ploy to boost ratings.”

Video of it is above.

Obviously upset, Cooper argues that, had he wanted to use the coming out to boost interest in his new show, he would have done it completely differently, in a more calculated manner.

He then goes on to say that pot is calling the kettle black, because Star has a long history of craving media attention – and doing everything in her power to get it.

“I seem to recall her hawking her wedding every single day to get free products when she was on The View and I seem to recall her lying about her gastric bypass surgery and making everybody else lie about it as well,” Cooper says.

“So for her to suddenly emerge out of the shadows and suddenly attack me for this, I couldn't believe it,” he adds.
