Apparently, advertising isn't going that well for Funcom

Funcom is beginning to sound more and more desperate. At first, they launched a free trial period for Anarchy Online, extending it after with a few months, until January of 2008. I guess they were making money off the commercials in the game, or something.

But now, looks like the advertisements aren't doing so well as they decided to launch an expansion pack for Anarchy Online, an expansion pack for which you will have to pay (bummer!). They have just revealed that they have opened the books for Anarchy Online-Lost Eden pre-orders. But they do not reveal the price of this expansion.

Funcom has something else in store for those who will pre-order this expansion pack, namely that upon ordering Lost Eden, they will also get the previous two expansion packs, Shadowlands and Alien Invasion.

Anarchy Online seems to me like a World of Warcraft wannabe, but not nearly as popular as the 7.5 million subscribers WoW. Two main factions are present in the game, the Omni-Tek and the Clans. The Omni-Tek is some sort of a mega-corporation while the Clans is made-up of rebel workers. Of course, there is battle going on between these rebel workers and the corporation, but I'll let you discover the rest.
