Are you a Spore fan? I know, I can't wait to get my hands on it either. Although we can't offer the free demo just yet, we can hand you this Spore Countdown widget (which lets you see the number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds until Spore comes out), and show you new screenshots of a creature's Tribal Phase.

Worthplaying has posted new screenshots of Will Wright's God game, but also a new trailer for the upcoming simulation title. The screen grabs below offer an insight into the Tribal Phase your creature will have to enter at a certain point. This phase occurs somewhere between that of a single celled organism and the stage where you burst through your planet's atmosphere.

Worthplaying says that players begin the Tribal Stage as "a small group of sentient creatures which have just discovered tools and have formed the first tribe on their planet." You will be tasked with gathering food with your tribe members "by picking fruit, hunting or domesticating wild animals and fishing." The tribe "runs on food to buy tools with it," the website notes. You will be able to purchase tribal accessories with food, offer food to other tribes, and even steal it from other tribes if you so wish. Either way, you must ensure your tribe is getting all the nourishment it needs to live through the day.

As a player, you will be using different tools to "befriend or attack neighboring tribes, aid in hunting and gathering, or heal your tribe members." You will begin the Tribal Stage with two of six super powers at your disposal, depending on the outcome of your Cell and Creature Stages.

Lastly, you will have to decide whether to fight other tribes or be friends with them, in order to live in prosperity and form a Civilization. Needless to say, you will have to defeat the tribes you decide to do battle with, in order to reach your Tribal Phase goal.

Spore will be released for Mac on the 7th of September, this year.
