1,500 dollars' worth of a Boeing window

To be honest, we don't know how much making an airplane window costs; we're not even sure whether this would make a key issue in selling airplane windows. Nevertheless, it has come to our attention that one of the cool, wacky and expensive gifts for this year's coming holidays are airplane windows. We think you've already popped your eyes in interest: buying an airplane window isn't a thing you do (or can do) everyday... and adding such an entry on your shopping list is even stranger. So, what's going on with all this?

Despite the weirdness of such an offer, we found a trustworthy website specialized in selling uncommon goods. Therefore it's not an eBay scam. And once more, they're selling airplane windows!

Now, these aren't your everyday airplane windows (are there such things?) as they come from a somewhat legendary plane: the last existing Pan Am Boeing 707 aircraft, the N880PA. And this makes this piece a rare and truly limited collector’s item, a part of the aviation history – if you're into owning a piece of the first plane to serve a full-jet transatlantic line between Paris and New York, then this is your lucky day.

We still haven't figured out where this Boeing window would fit in your residence. Could it be fixed to a wall as a piece of art, or would it look better on a velvet-clad stand and under a class cupola? And of course, there is the most reasonable mounting way, having this window replacing one of the traditional ones in your house and possibly making you look a bit like a wacky owner.

Well, if you're not that crazy about airplanes so as to spend $1,500 on this Boeing window but still have friends who would kill for such a piece of flight history memorabilia, you could make them happy and have this 11 kg aluminium gift delivered to their door. Or thrown through a window. Kidding.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
