14 DAY TRIAL // Even though her personal life has been, and continues to be tabloid fodder, it seems that British hitmaker Amy Winehouse still has managed to find the time to think about her true calling as well. Hello! Magazine is reporting that, amidst putting her life back on track and about to enter a divorce battle, Amy is also working on a new music album, set to be released at a yet unspecified date.
As of late, television journalist Daphne Barak has been gathering material for a book on Amy’s extremely troubled life, and it is from her that this rumor started in the first place, the magazine reports. While speaking with Amy’s father and mother, Barak apparently got some sort of confirmation that, indeed, the singer was still a constant presence in the recording studio, where she was working on a follow-up to her highly successful 2006 “Back to Black.”
Nevertheless, no other confirmation of this is yet available. As for Amy herself, she continues to be in St. Lucia, where she met her current boyfriend as she’s trying to kick a very serious drug and alcohol addiction. Pictures snapped by paparazzi have proven that, so far, she seems to be doing well, the singer showing off on the beach a more plumper figure, as opposed to the skeletal frame that horrified the media and fans a couple of months ago in London.
Speaking with Barak, Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, also opened up about what it meant for them as a family to go through her serious drug use with the eyes of the entire world staring at them. “Stories about my troubled daughter are selling newspapers and magazines. They don’t want her to get better. But she is better. They didn’t see her lying in bed for days in a dark room. She was close to death twice. We have been working a lot to get her to where she is right now.” Mitch said in reference to Amy’s visible improvement.
