Amy Adams and the late Sir Philip Seymour Hoffman were good friends, having worked together on several projects, including the film “Doubt,” which earned her an Oscar nomination. Days after Hoffman’s death, Adams taped an interview for Bravo’s Inside the Actors Studio, and the mere mention of that film brought her to tears.

The interview aired last night. Embedded below is video of the excerpt in which she talks about Hoffman and what an amazing person and extremely talented actor he was.

She is having a very hard time fighting back tears, to the point where she even says she’d like not to dwell on the topic anymore.

“He was beautiful. He's a beautiful spirit and he had this unique ability to see people, to really see them – not look through them – he just really saw people. And he will be missed,” she says, her voice breaking.

“Sorry, wish you all could get the chance to work with him,” Amy continues, trying to end the conversation. “Sorry, I really... I just really loved him and I know so many people did. And I just don't know how much more I can talk about it right now. Sorry.”

Hoffman died at the beginning of the month of a suspected drug overdose.
