Visitors to the Highland Wildlife Park in Scotland will soon get the chance to catch a glimpse of two Amur tiger cubs living at this sanctuary.

The cubs were born about a month ago, on May 29. They've spent their first weeks of life hidden inside their den, and are just now strong and confident enough to face the great outdoors.

Caretakers say that, although these two rascals are its first cubs ever, mother Dominika is doing a great job looking after them and keeping them out of trouble.

The cubs' haven't yet had the chance to meet their father, 4-year-old Tiger, but staff at the Highland Wildlife Park are confident it won't be long until they are introduced to each other. ZooBorns reports.

“Every animal birth is special, but perhaps none more so than an Amur Tiger birth.

“Extremely endangered, at one point it was thought only 50 of these big cats still existed in the wild. What makes the birth extra special for us is that Dominika was actually born here at the Highland Wildlife Park in May 2009,” Head Keeper Una Richardson explaines in a recent interview.
