Last week, cdv Software Entertainment USA issued a report containing a historical overview of three key battles from their upcoming strategy game, American Civil War: 1861-1865 The Blue and the Gray. The same company now announces that the American Civil War-themed strategy game has gone gold and is on track for release on January 28th. American Civil War: 1861-1865 The Blue and the Gray focuses on key battles of one of the bloodiest conflicts in American history, and puts players in the combined role of a diplomat, logistician and strategist.

AGEOD's American Civil War: 1861-1865 - The Blue and the Gray is a historical war game that places players at the head of the United States or the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War between 1861-1865. As a player you take on the role of military and political leaders trying to lead your factions to military, political or economic victory during five historic years that divided a nation.

The key to success is to organize your military forces, while managing supply and morale as you plan actions over land, sea and by rail. Challenging scenarios are to be found at every step of the way, "campaigns and grand campaigns, all played out on the largest American Civil War map ever created for a game," according to the game's fact sheet.

"Given AGEOD's stellar work in their previous titles, I was very excited to see that they were turning their knack for creating great wargames to the American Civil War," said David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games at the time Matrix Games and AGEOD were announcing the title. "I'm confident that American Civil War - The Blue and the Gray will provide a perfect mix between level of detail and gameplay to give gamers the best of both worlds," he added.

This authentic game has been created by Philippe Thibaut, renowned video game designer responsible for titles such as Europa Universalis, Pax Romana and Birth of America. Visit this website for more information about American Civil War: 1861-1865 The Blue and the Gray, and other cdv games.
