Louis Vuitton, the famous French fashion house, has released a free (that’s right) iPhone application for travelers. It utilizes City Guides information to provide guidance to any number of locations of interest, depending on the city the user is in, and its coverage.

According to Louis Vuitton Editeur SAS, the Amble application offers new ways of capturing your travel memories and sharing them with your friends.

“Create your own unique tours: the Ambles. Take personal pictures, notes, videos and sounds along your way. And save the spots you like most, anywhere in the world,” the app’s description reads.

Users can find inspiration from other “Amblers” or “Friends of the House”, the developer explains.

For urban explorers, the Louis Vuitton City Guides are available in both English and French.

In-app purchases ranging between $10 and $15 (there had to be a catch) allow for access to the actual City Guides information for cities like London, Paris, New York, and Tokyo.

However, the app itself is English supported only.

“Available in English only and allowing you to save your personal information directly from louisvuittonamble.com or from your iPhone, Amble is the perfect companion for an everyday walk or exploratory trip,” the description adds.

Amble allegedly offers augmented reality fun as well:

“Let augmented reality lead you, record your travel experiences, visit your favorite celebrity˙s spots - it's everything you need to create unforgettable journeys,” Louis Vuitton Editeur SAS notes.

“Whether you want to remember a walk you particularly enjoyed or need to prepare a visit to a new destination, with Amble you will always be ready to explore the world,” the developer adds.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Amble with Louis Vuitton requires iOS 4.0 or later and is a free download from Apple’s iTunes App Store in the Travel category.
